This role is responsible for driving a strategic, cross-functional approach to fostering and managing public policy issues while helping the business to gain competitive advantage from public policy developments especially with key stakeholders in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Northern Nigeria. The role holder plays an active role in positively influencing perceptions, building corporate reputation, providing advice and guidance to senior executives on relationships with critical stakeholders. The role is based in Abuja but involves travel across the country especially within Northern Nigeria. Key Accountabilities Develop and sustain strong relationships with critical stakeholders in government, parastatals, and regulatory bodies, traditional and political leaders of thought for the purpose of tracking, pre-empting and influencing policies that are likely to impact on our business through constructive engagement, advocacy and lobbying. Support the Sustainability and Responsibility department in managing relationships with host communities in the FCT and Northern Nigeria. Develop and implement strategies focused on building support and alliance with industry leaders Identify and implement specific campaign platforms that support the company’s reputation and profile with existing and new external audiences. Research and deliver content for all government and external stakeholders presentations Establish/maintain active and effective relationships with the diplomatic community including key embassies, United Nations, ECOWAS secretariat Facilitate and support vital business approvals/licenses/permits/waivers.
